Priming Coat
The Stoopen & Meeûs Priming Coat can be used as a base for Lime wash. This Priming Coat is perfect for substrates that need to be finished with Lime wash where the filling quality of the Lime wash is insufficient. As a Priming Coat for Lime wash, the undercoat is best applied using a blocked brush (thickness 1 – 3 mm).
Possible irregularities can be filled with this Priming Coat. To obtain a thick coat, it should be applied in multiple coats.
This Priming Coat determines the ultimate look of the surface that will later be finished with Lime wash. If the structure needs to be maintained, the finish needs a well-diluted Lime wash. If the finish of the Priming Coat is smooth, the ultimate look can be determined with brush strokes using a Lime wash or Badgeon that is a little thicker.
This Priming Coat has good vapour permeability and will not influence the breathing qualities of the mineral paints. If the Priming Coat has not been coloured, possible damage will reveal a white undercoat.
The Priming Coat is a compound of mineral raw materials (maximum grain size 1 mm) among other things and binding agents like chalk, hydraulic chalk and cement. They preserve the breathing and moisture-regulating character of the façade.
