ORGANIC PIGMENTS
Description
Organic pigments are different from other pigments because of the combination of bright colours and low specific gravity. The organic pigment chart ranges from lemon yellow to orange to burgundy, and there is a wide range of green and blue tones. For many uses, the organic pigments are the only non-toxic alternative for the pigments based on cadmium, lead, molybdate, etc.

Characteristics
Organic pigments all have very specific characteristics; the most important are the UV-, acid- and alkaline stability. In general it can be said that: The UV stability is always less compared to inorganic pigments. The acid- and alkaline-resistance is usually less compared to inorganic pigments. They are always in the form of fine powders, with high colouring power and low specific gravity. Organic pigments are non-toxic.
